eVacuumStore.com Exclusive Electrolux Vacuum: UltraCaptic

by Joe 15. April 2014 10:15

Today, many bagless canister vacuums lack at least one of several points: it lacks suction; the parts easily break; the dust flies everywhere during the emptying process; the belts always snap; it’s basically disposable.  Electrolux questioned users about what they did not like in bagless models and designed the UltraCaptic to answers their concerns.

The UltraCaptic features a premium power head with motorized brush roll, multiple height settings and a brushroll on/off switch built in to the unit.  This allows the user to raise or lower the power head to fit their carpet height(s) maximizing agitation and airflow to remove embedded dirt, sand, and particles that otherwise shred and destroy fibers.  The brush roll off switch easily transitions the power head from carpeting or rugs to hardwood/bare surfaces without the fear of damaging or marring the floors.

The Compact-and-Go dust cup revolutionizes bagless cyclonic technology by means of 10 separate turbines spinning in conjunction with each other efficiently removing the large clumps of dirt from your carpet.  The turbines also separate the ultra-fine particles down to .03 microns into a HEPA filtration system.  Once filled, simply lift the handle and the unique and innovative dust cup compresses the dirt into a pancake.  Bring this over your trash, press a button and slide the receptacle bottom open in one motion and the cake drops.  This design means that less dirt stays stuck on the walls of the receptacle and debris does not fly off into the air like other bagless models.

The UltraCaptic also comes with a swiveling hardwood floor brush, a deluxe rug and floor tool, and a premium 3-in-1 transformative tool.  The 3-in-1 switches from dusting brush to crevice tool to upholstery tool and back in three easy movements.  Open the crevice tool to make it upholstery, close it again and place the narrow nose into the hose to use the opposite side’s dusting brush.  The rug and floor tool switches between bare floors and area rugs with a foot’s tap while the hardwood brush’s soft bristles unsettle dirt in the cracks of your bare surfaces.  View the Electrolux Bagless Canister Vacuum.

Central Vacuum Motors

by Joe 15. April 2014 09:33

When choosing a central vacuum for your home, pay close attention to the motor housed inside the unit.  In your search, you will encounter three styles of motors in central vacuums that determine the quality, power, and life expectancy of the unit.  Make sure to ask the salesman to show you the motor and take note of the air flow style.

In less expensive models, expect to see a flow through motor.  This average motor keeps initial cost down in most cases, but needs replacement every 6-10 years approximately.  Flow-through motors do not have a cooling fan, so they use the filtered (semi-dirty) air to keep the temperature down.  This system reduces the life of the motor as heated exhaust air enters the motor chamber which leads to debris build up and overheating as time progresses.   If you do not mind replacing the motor every so often as they do not cost absurd amounts or do not intend on cleaning often, an inexpensive central vacuum fits well in most small to medium sized homes.

Above flow-through motors and seen in a majority of central units, peripheral by-pass motors provide strong suction, feature one to three cooling fans, and last more than double the life of its flow-through counterpart.  With at least one cooling on fan on top of the motor, clean air enters the motor and the heated exhaust exists through small vents via side vents on the base of the motor.  Manufacturers commonly use two of these motors in dual motor central vacuum systems.

eVacuumStore.com specialists recommend a tangential by-pass central vacuum motor to minimize replacement and guarantee quality.  Multiple fans cool the fresh air coming into the motor while it exhausts through a side chassis.  If exhausted outside, this design provides 100% filtration of the home.  As a side note, if you can, choose aluminum over plastic for the chassis material as this prolongs motor life as well.

eVacuumStore.com offers dozens of central vacuum models with the three styles of motor listed above.  Call our expert factory trained staff to answer any questions you may have about our selection of central vacuums or their motors to find the right central vacuum for your home and budget.

Choosing the Right Central Vacuum Attachment Kit for Your Home

by Joe 24. February 2014 09:43

At first it seems overwhelming to choose the most suitable central vacuum accessories for a home.  One should become familiar with several subjects before committing to any particular kit to ensure compatibility and performance. However, besides the overall performance of central vacuum attachments, where is a good place to start?

One of the best questions to consider, even before delving into the vast quantities of attachment sets, is "which types of flooring does the home consist of?"  There are sets of central vacuum accessories that are intended solely for homes with bare floors (i.e. tile, hardwood, granite etc.), and other sets intended for homes containing both bare floors and carpets.  It is imperative to narrow down which surfaces require maintenance prior to inquiry to avoid becoming deluged with the possibilities.

Once the desired attachment set is understood, the next step is determining compatibility with the existing home. The most effective way to begin this process is by examining the current central vacuum hose cuff where it plugs into the wall.  Depending on the way everything was wired during installation, the cuff will either have a seven foot pig tail cord extending from it, or two prongs for direct plug-in. The hose with a pig tail cord is used with central vacuum attachment kits that require an additional 110 volts of electricity to operate motorized components. For use, the cord is plugged into a nearby outlet while the hose plugs into a standard inlet valve. Central vacuum hoses with a two prong plug-in have the additional 110 volts built into them.  When the hose is plugged into the inlet valve, the prongs make contact with the integrated receptacle, powering both the central vacuum unit and the necessary attachments.  The standard size for inlet valves is an outside diameter of 1 1/2 inches.

Central vacuum attachments provide unparalleled reach and cleaning capabilities.  The wide variety of options allow for a level of cleanliness that most conventional vacuum cleaners are incapable of reaching.  Although the selection process may seem arduous and overwhelming, the afformentioned steps can help alleviate the stress.  Electrolux, Beam, Eureka and Honeywell are some of the top recommendations in terms of quality and performance contributing to the continued success of central vacuum systems and accessories.

Canister Vs. Upright Vacuum Cleaner

by Joe 24. February 2014 04:34

When choosing a new vacuum, the first question that arises is, “canister or upright?”  This simple question confuses, vexes, and exhausts home owners day after day.  Each style boasts a unique set of strengths for consumers to consider; just answer a few simple questions and the decision becomes clearer.

What kind of flooring?

If the home has only hardwood or bare floors, the canister vacuum wins.  Hardwood floors reverberate and amplify sound greater than muffled carpeting does making a canister ideal.  The body design allows for improved insulation and sound suppression.  Bare floors do not need to be swept with a motorized brushroll, so an air driven turbo nozzle with bristles meets cleaning requirements.

If carpets stretch from wall to wall throughout the home (save a spot of wood or tile), then look towards an upright vacuum.  Dust, dirt, and sand settle to the fibers’ base and slowly scratch and shred away causing the carpet to fray and rip.  The motorized agitator (otherwise known as a brushroll) displaces debris embedded deep at the carpet’s pile extending the life for many years.

Many new homes feature both bare surfaces such as hardwood and carpeting making the choice slightly more difficult.  Many vacuum specialists recommend and steer people towards canisters with a motorized brushroll as the nozzles can be removed and changed from the power head to a hardwood floor brush.

How many levels?

How heavy the vacuum feels weighs on the minds of many.  Single floor homes tend to see uprights due to easy storage space while multi-floor homes hold more canisters thanks to lightweight design.  Canisters also (usually) come with a tool meant for cleaning stairs, however, uprights now feature stair tools that attach to the hose/wand.  Lightweight upright vacuums also work well in multi-floor homes and have become a recent trend.

The big one.

What’s your preference?  Users grow accustomed to one of the styles.  A salesman can tell a customer all day about how one style suits their home over the other, however, at the end of the day, the customer’s comfort determines which vacuum works for the home.  Many companies have begun making uprights with a brushroll on and off switch to transition between carpet and bare floors to provide an alternative to home owners.   Some do not enjoy the canister rolling along behind them; some enjoy the lightweight design of canisters.

Recap:

Canisters have the versatility for all hardwood or a combination of hardwood and area rugs/carpeting.  Uprights have the edge on wall-to-wall carpeted homes.  Your preference guides you towards the purchase that brings peace of mind and easy usage.  If you have any doubts, contact our eVacuumStore.com specialists at 1-(866)-972-8227 and we can guide you towards your ideal vacuum match.

Electrolux T8 Vacuum

by Matt 12. February 2014 03:47

Have you just moved out on your own and realized you've never used a vacuum in your life? Do you feel overwhelmed by all the intricate parts of a vacuum that you just want to quit altogether? Well, the new Electrolux EL4071A T8 Bagless Canister Vacuum should be the perfect fit for you. With its standard cleaning capability and easy-to-use functions, this vacuum is a the perfect starter. Let's start with the overall look and feel of the vacuum. With its sleek chrome telescopic wand and benign orange color, the T8 Bagless takes out any embarrassment one may have while cleaning. You won't pull a muscle carrying this vacuum up any stairs either, as its total weight is just 8.2 lbs.

Turning on this powerful 10 amp machine is a simple push of a button on the back of the canister; you can even use your foot, so there is no need to bend over and risk breaking a sweat. The average noise level is to be expected on this standard vacuum. The 6 ft. hose allows for easy access to any mess around your home without having to relocate to a different plug. Use the various attachments for more specific spots: the combination dusting brush and upholstery tool for cleaning pet hair and crumbs off delicate items such as drapes, chair legs, and lampshades;crevice tool for those hard to reach areas; and the low profile nozzle brush, which is able to clean hard-to-reach areas under furniture with its 1" size. The T8 Bagless also comes with the hard floor parquet brush for tile and hardwood floor. Each are simple and easy to use, especially the combination dusting brush and upholstery tool, which makes you feel like a wizard as you transform it with a simple flip and lock of some plastic.

With these attachments, you can now begin your reign of terror against the dust and allergens in your home. The Electrolux T8 Bagless uses allergen filtration to help in the fight against allergy and asthma symptoms. Paired with a 10 inch wide cleaning path, not only will your home be as clean as ever, but it will take even less time, giving you more time to enjoy dirtying it up again. The comfortable handle allows for an easy glide while cleaning. Its multi-cyclonic suction system allows for the T8 Bagless to never lose suction. The air vent slide control on the telescopic tube allows for a change in suction level for those more delicate surfaces.

As you finish your attack on dust, there is still little need to bend over. Once you unplug the machine, simply push the auto-cord rewind button and watch the cord effortlessly retract back into the vacuum. Releasing the dust cup from the base is done with a simple push, while the top opens by releasing two clips and squeezing the top. One flaw to the bagless dust cup is the eventual backlash of dust that comes with opening a full dust cup. Be sure to perform this duty over the trash so it doesn't go on your now-clean floor. While going bagless is not the best idea for easy cleanup or allergies, it is beneficial for those who wish to cut costs on buying bags.

You will never lose an attachment again with the ability to attach each part to the base with the tool caddy. To do this, attach the combination dusting brush and upholstery tool to the telescopic wand and then attach the wand to the base with the tool caddy. While this causes the vacuum to take up the same amount of space as an upright, it is a small price to pay for convenience.

With a base price of $249.99, the Electrolux EL4071A T8 Bagless Canister Vacuum is both affordable and practical for those on a budget. Unsure of the durability because of the low cost? The T8 Bagless comes with a 5-year warranty, which should reassure any doubts anyone may have about how this will perform for them. Overall, this vacuum gives standard cleaning power with easy-to-learn controls that makes even a beginner feel as though they can accomplish anything.
