SPRING CLEANING TIPS 101

by Bob 24. March 2011 06:39

The first day of spring has just passed March 20th 2011 ,the red robins have been in my yard for at least a week. Now is the time to start my spring cleaning.  The first thing to do is to open the windows to let the fresh air in.  Using the right tools is the key to doing the job easily and effectively.  Pack your tote , carry cleaning supplies in a caddy along with your vacuum and duster.

Make a checklist of chores to get organized.  Begin with the rooms that are dirtiest.  Take down blinds and dust down and wash window sills.  Clean all windows inside and out.  Use ammonia and water or vinegar and water.  Dry windows in one direction to avoid streaks.  Don’t mix cleaning products ammonia and bleach they are toxic.  Use the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner to dust heating vents and door frames.  The vacuum also is a good tool to remove dust from lamp shades, and upholstered surfaces.

If you haven’t cleaned your carpet in a year, now is the time to use your carpet cleaner.  Move the sofa ,beds and other heavy furniture.  Pull them away from the wall ,use the crevice tool of your vacuum to dust along the baseboard.

Scrub the shower and tub.  Clean shower doors.  Clean medicine cabinets.  Throw away expired medicines, discard nearly empty bottles.  Old prescriptions should not be saved.

Clean the cabinets in the kitchen check spices and other items to see if they have expired.  Throw them away. Dust down the ceiling and corner of walls.  Take your spring cleaning time to clean grease and spilled food from your walls.  Use your vacuum on the front of the coils and motor of your refrigerator to remove dust and dirt.  Baking soda will absorb odors for a month or so in your refrigerator.

Always sweep or vacuum a floor before mopping.  Wetting dirt will make the floor harder to clean.  For wood floors mats at the door are necessary to collect dirt.  Frequent dust mopping in high traffic areas is important.  The brush attachment on the vacuum can be used.

Don’t forget to put on your favorite music as you clean!

The Benefits of Electrolux Central Vacuums

by Bob 4. February 2011 12:15

Electrolux central vacuums are a convenient way to clean a room without having to lug a heavy, traditional vacuum all over the house. There are a number of benefits to using a central system, and Electrolux has developed a reputation for providing high quality vacuums that get the job done fast. However, a central system might not be for everyone, so it’s important to understand all the pros and cons.

The Pros

Models like them Electrolux PU3650 QuietClean Central Vacuum Unit offer many benefits and advantages over the traditional mobile models. These vacuums allow you to clean every corner of the house quickly and efficiently without hefting a large vacuum from room to room. You will find that the lightweight hose and vacuum head are easy to carry and use in any room, and most of the hoses will easily stretch far enough to cover the entire floor.

Electrolux central vacuums also offer extremely powerful motors since the central vacuum can be hidden away in a separate, stable location instead of on a mobile vacuum. The Electrolux PU 3650 QuietClean Central Vacuum can actually generate up to 600 air watts of cleaning power, so you can do some serious deep cleaning.

Aside from the long reach and simple storage options, central vacuum cleaners are easy to maintain and, since the dust and dirt is completely removed from the room before hitting the vacuum bag, there is less chance for dust and dirt to get thrown into the air, which can lead to better allergen control.

The Cons

You can’t focus on just the pros without pointing out a couple of cons. (It’s also easy to do this because even though there are some cons, they are far outweighed by the pros.) Installing Electrolux central vacuums is a big decision, and you should be aware of all the implications.

Centralized vacuums are permanent fixtures. This means if you ever move from your house, you will have to purchase a new vacuum (central or mobile) for your new home. Installation can also be a problem for homes that already exist. It’s easy to install them while you are in the building phase, but it can be a real endeavor to hire the contractors and electricians and others to install it after the house is completed.

Finally, the location of the central vacuum motor can have an effect on performance. Many people will try to locate the motor as far away as possible, but this could diminish the suction power at a distance.

Is It For You?
When you are looking at the Electrolux central vacuums, be sure to consider both sides of the issue. These are extremely powerful appliances that can do a great job cleaning your carpets and removing allergens, but be sure you have considered this from every angle.

Using Sanitaire Commercial Vacuums

by Bob 21. January 2011 06:56

The earliest commercial vacuums were made to fit very specific jobs. They were strong, bulky, powerful, and loud, but they got the job done – and they got the job done fast. These vacuums were designed to clean high traffic areas in some very large buildings, and that was it. Now, though, models like the Sanitaire commercial vacuum have started to include some features and add-ons that have made them more user-friendly and suitable for use in many different situations – even in your home.

Standard Features
Commercial vacuums are still, technically speaking, meant for people who want to get the job done right without wasting a lot of time going over the same area again and again. (So why not use them in your home?) The standard features on those models were focused on convenience, durability, and effectiveness. You could expect to find a powerful motor, an extra long power cord, a wide cleaning head, and vacuum bag that is easy to remove and replace.

Modern Sanitaire commercial vacuums still include all these features, but now they have started to add some other things that will make it easier to do the job, and to get better results.

Modern Benefits
Whether you are using Sanitaire or other Electrolux commercial vacuum cleaners, you will be able to take advantage of many new features. These models could be used in many different areas, such as your home, and still expect the same commercial-level results.

Now you can get a commercial vacuum that includes HEPA filtration system, extended hoses, a wide range of tools and accessories, and more. You may not need all these features if you are maintaining a huge machine shop, but, if you want to clean a small office or home, you may discover that these vacuums are just what you need.

When you begin shopping for your commercial vacuum cleaner, take the time to consider your needs. Even if you are just getting a new vacuum for your home, you may be surprised how much an extra long power cord can change your experience. Be sure to explore all your options and get the machine that is right for you.

Power Team Perfect Canister Vacuum: Same Design, New Performance

by Bob 13. January 2011 09:44

The Power Team Perfect Canister Vacuum was designed to emulate the look and power of an old Electrolux model that was extremely popular. However, this Perfect canister vacuum is filled with modern components to ensure that you get an even better performance than the old classic model.

Just like the old Electrolux vacuum, these models have an all-metal housing that protects it from the use and abuse that it will receive over the years. This is an extremely durable vacuum, and as long as you make an effort to maintain it, you’ll be able to count on it for many years to come.

Not every vacuum is perfectly suited for every job, and it’s important to look at the features before you decide which model to purchase. Some people may prefer an upright vacuum to a canister model, while other situations may call for a central vacuum. The Power Team Perfect Canister Vacuum offers:

•    All-metal housing with chrome highlights
•    15" power nozzle specifically designed to get deep in the carpet and remove pet hair
•    Non-marking rubber wheels that are safe to use on almost any surface
•    Foot operated on/off switch
•    Circuit breaker that will make sure you don’t suck up items that could damage the inner workings of the vacuum
•    Automatic cord rewind
•    Vacuum bags with a HEPA filtration system to trap the fine particles that aggravate asthma and allergies

There are also a range of accessories that can enhance your Power Team Perfect Canister Vacuum, such as the 12" soft horsehair brush for bare floors, the 14" crevice tool to get the hard-to-reach places, and an air-driven stair tool that is designed to make the job of vacuuming stairs much easier.

If you had one of those old Electrolux vacuums and are looking for a replacement, or just want to switch over to a canister vacuum, this may be a great way to go. This vacuum has taken a good thing and built on it to make it even better.

Get Energy Efficient with the Electrolux UltraSilencer

by Bob 7. January 2011 10:29

Electrolux vacuum cleaners have been around for decades, and the company has built a reputation for providing high quality equipment and service. Now, though, they have gone a step further and are focusing on an energy efficient "green" model.

The Electrolux UltraSilencer Green was designed to deliver the same results while consuming less power than the average vacuum. On top of that, they are using recycled plastic in this model which is leading to even more environmentally friendly results. The UltraSilencer uses 33% less energy than a standard 2,000 watt vacuum cleaner and it is constructed with 55% recycled plastic. Electrolux even uses packaging that is constructed from 80% recycled cardboard.

Manufacturing the Electrolux UltraSilencer Green

In order to deliver a truly green vacuum cleaner, Electrolux streamlined its manufacturing process to be as environmentally friendly as possible. This has resulted in a vacuum cleaner that consumes 90% less energy to manufacture (due to their use of recycled materials), and they save two liters of crude oil and 80 liters of water per vacuum.

Electrolux vacuum cleaners have always been powerful, efficient machines, and now the company is taking responsibility for its environmental impact and using a manufacturing process that conserves our natural resources and reduces the amount of pollution all around us.

UltraSilencer Green Usage

Vacuums have always required a lot of power to get the results that we expect, but Electrolux has designed this vacuum to do the job of a 2,000 watt vacuum with a new, energy efficient 1,250 watt motor. This will help users save up to 364kWh of energy, cut down 320kg of CO2 emissions, and, of course, reduce your everyday energy costs.

Whether you do a little vacuuming every day or you just take care of it all once a week, these Electrolux vacuum cleaners make it easy to get the job done while you save power and money. The way people use the final product is a huge factor in how it impacts the environment, and with the Electrolux UltraSilencer Green, you will reduce your carbon footprint and still get the results you expect.
