When it comes to Oreck vacuum cleaners, there are three basic types to choose from; Uprights, Canisters and Backpacks. In this article, we will explore several of the popular models in the upright line of Oreck vacuum cleaners.
Oreck’s upright commercial vacuum cleaners consists of four models, including the U2000, XLPRO14T, Pro 12 Series and Premier Series. Here we will take a look at the two most basic models in this line; the U2000 and the XLPRO14T.
Oreck U2000 Series:
Oreck boasts this model as its commercial workhorse that is used widely in business applications such as hotels, hospitals and offices. At only 8 pounds, this is one of Oreck’s lighter machines, which is a big plus for these larger applications where it needs to move across large areas including up and down stairs. Another feature of this machine that makes it ideal for commercial applications is the ability to lower the handle to a full 180-degree extension, allowing the entire machine to effectively lay flat. This enables this model to slip under desks, chairs baseboards and other office furniture with ease. One of the unique Oreck parts featured on this model is the Metaxalloy motor fan, which is constructed of a material similar to Kevlar. This prevents damage from objects such as coins and paper clips.
Oreck XLPRO14T:
This is the big brother to the smaller and lighter U2000 model. At 19-pounds, the XLPRO14T is more than double the weight of the U2000, however this is to be expected with the 1000 watt dual motor, additional on-board features and attachments package. Also similar to the U2000, this machine is built for commercial use and features a handle that is capable of lying completely flat for convenient access underneath furniture. Some of the additional features on this line include telescoping wand and stretch hose, three-piece attachment set, wrap-around bumper system, non-slip belt with overload protection, easy carpet height adjust and quick brush strip removal. With all of the add-ons and easy maintenance features, this model is a great, long lasting commercial upright.
Both of these Oreck commercial upright models are great choices for commercial and industrial applications. Each of these models has different Oreck vacuum bags and will take standard Oreck parts when in need of replacement.
